Cairns

Captain James Cook sailed up the North Queensland coast on his first Voyage of Discovery in June 1770, aboard his ship the HM Bark Endeavour. Captain Cook was the first known European to visit the site where today City of Cairns is located.

Cairns attractions rank as some of the most original and exciting in Australia. Golden sunny beaches flanked by pristine rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef make Cairns a region that literally has it all! Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, white water rafting down a raging river, sailing to tropical islands, browsing for crafts at country town markets, skydiving from 14000 feet, fishing for barramundi, enjoying tropical rainforest tours.

After you've snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef, hurtled off a bungy jumping tower and thrashed your way down a raging river, you still have another wild Cairns activity that you can't miss. Night clubs. That's right, you can't go to bed yet because the Cairns night scene is enticing you towards a night of dancing and fun followed by a crushing hangover. It's the perfect way to end a day…and start another.

Dining in Cairns is unique because we have access to outstanding fresh local produce (especially seafood), and also because the thriving tourism industry attracts world-renowned chefs to the region. Whether you’re looking for Japanese, Chinese, Indian, vegetarian or seafood, Tropical North Queensland has a restaurant that is ideal for you.

Cairns has a large range of shopping available. The CBD hosts everything from small souvenir type shops to large shopping arcades and everything in between. Most of the well known international brand name items can be found in the City, normally in the shopping complexes or arcades. There are plenty of bargains to be found, it is simply a matter of spending some time exploring the city to find exactly the items that you are looking for. There are a lot of souvenir type shops, opal shops and aboriginal shops. These items are all popular with visitors to Cairns.

We provide a wide selection of properties - budget, business, tourist, luxury, bed and breakfasts and apartments accommodation to suit your every needs.
